In a groundbreaking interview on March 12, 2025, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov sat down with US bloggers Mario Nawfal, Larry C. Johnson, and Andrew Napolitano in Moscow to discuss the path to peace in Ukraine.
In the interview, which has already gone viral, Lavrov reveals his Meeting with Marco Rubio, Michael Waltz & Steve Witkoff. Lavrov said that during the meeting it was discussed that US wants to have normal relations with Russia & both the countries should engage in serious discussions. However, he outlined that countries like U.S and Russia will never have the same National Interest, they might not even coincide not even 50%. He revealed that both the countries agreed to the fact that they should not engage in military confrontation & this should be avoided at any cost, which could be disastrous to many other countries. Lavrov assured his counterpart that President Putin understands the responsibility and conducts his foreign policy in this manner and is always looking for a balance of interest. However, he underlined the importance of dialogue between two responsible powerful countries.
Lavrov said that they as Russia fully understand that two different countries can not be 100% alike, these will be differences but these differences need to be resolved for the sake of humanity and its population. Lavrov also underlined that powerful countries, specially Nuclear powers, have special responsibilities and should always look for the alternatives and to sit down and talk rather then engaging militarily.
“The world is witnessing the decline of unilateral dominance. If we want real peace, Ukraine, Europe, and the United States must engage in genuine diplomacy,” Lavrov declared. The interview concluded with Lavrov expressing hope for a diplomatic resolution. “The people of Ukraine deserve peace, and the world deserves stability. It’s time for the United States and Europe to act responsibly.”
