Read Time:2 Minute, 17 Second

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt clashed with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on Monday after the journalist challenged the Trump administration’s claim that presidential pardons issued by Joe Biden were void. Let’s break down the heated exchange that took place live during the White House press briefing. During the tense interaction, CNN’s Kaitlan Collins pressed Karoline Leavitt on whether there was actual evidence supporting Trump’s claim that some of Biden’s last-minute pardons were “vacant” due to their alleged signing by autopen without his full knowledge. Leavitt, staying firm, responded sharply, saying, “You’re a reporter, you should find out.”

The Press Secretary made it clear that the Trump administration is taking the matter seriously and that any questionable executive actions taken by the previous administration will be scrutinized. Karoline Leavitt did not hold back as she took a swipe at the media’s bias, emphasizing that outlets like CNN have ignored real investigative journalism in favor of protecting Biden’s questionable decisions.

Earlier that morning, Trump took to Truth Social to air his concerns, questioning the validity of Biden’s pardons. He wrote: “The ‘Pardons’ that Sleepy Joe Biden gave to the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, and many others, are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because they were done by Autopen. In other words, Joe Biden did not sign them but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them! The necessary Pardoning Documents were not explained to, or approved by, Biden. He knew nothing about them, and the people that did may have committed a crime.” This statement sent shockwaves through the political sphere, with legal experts debating whether the Trump administration has the authority to challenge Biden’s pardons.

As Kaitlan Collins continued pressing for details, Karoline Leavitt confidently maintained that the administration is investigating the situation and will not allow any unlawful executive actions to go unnoticed. The heated exchange left many viewers wondering whether CNN’s framing of the story was yet another attempt to protect Biden from scrutiny.

This isn’t the first time that Trump has challenged the legitimacy of Biden’s executive decisions. However, with Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt leading the administration’s media front, it’s clear that they will not back down from calling out the mainstream media’s narratives.
